Priorities and Benefits

The Automotive Skills Alliance (ASA) exists to build, extend, and maintain a long-term ecosystem for continuous and structured cooperation on skills development in the automotive and mobility sectors.
We support both initial education and continuous upskilling and reskilling of the workforce by:

  • Connecting all key stakeholders – industry, education & training providers, policymakers, and social partners
  • Responding to rapid innovation and emerging technologies
    Matching training offers with the real skills needs of the ecosystem
  • Supporting collective action on the European, national, and regional levels

ASA Operates as a dynamic platform for collective action, fostering cross-border collaboration and systematic knowledge-sharing

ASA Focus Areas
  • EU-wide platform for collaboration between EU, national, and regional stakeholders
  • Exchange of best practices across sectors, regions, and actors
  • Systematic gathering and update of sectoral skills intelligence
  • Provision of access to training offers via tools like the Skills Hub and Learning Platform
  • Promotion of micro-credentials and individual learning accounts to support modular and flexible learning
  • Initiation and mainstreaming of relevant European and national projects (e.g., DRIVES, ALBATTS, FLAMENCO, etc.)

The ASA Partnership

ASA is a large-scale Pact for Skills partnership in the Mobility–Transport–Automotive ecosystem, focused on fostering collective, coordinated action on skills.

Key Milestones
  • Launched: November 2020 under the EU Pact for Skills
  • Legal entity established: January 2022 as a non-profit organization by ACEA, CECRA, CLEPA, and ETRMA
  • Membership: Over 120 organisations and growing
